I would just like to share with you guys that having not played in a regional tournament since 2003 I am going to have my own mini season. I run a wholesale landscape supply company and after years of being a manager for Home Depot I actually have a couple of months where I am not busy and have off the weekends. So after tense negotiations with the wife I will get to play some. After a week of meetings in Danbury I will be driving to Long Island for Tony Robles's tour opener and after that playing in the first 2 Tiger Tour events. Then I finish my season at Valley Forge. For you regular players this might not seem to mean anything but for a guy like me who works 60 hours a week this is a big deal. If any of you fine AZB people will be at these events I would love to say hi. My goal is to cash one time. I am rusty so I will be happy with that.

Kudos to you! Sounds like something I'd love to do. Maybe, just maybe this year I can have a go at a bigger event.

Whatever happens, have fun! And of course, kick some butt!:D

Thanks Chilli, the last time I played I went pretty deep (7th out of 65) in a Planet Pool event but that was 4 years ago so hopefully I can catch a gear. I will get a chance to practice in Danbury the week before so hopefully that will help. I gotta say what is mundane for regular players is pretty exciting for somebody like me who pretty much never gets to play.

First off, Good Luck! Thats sounds like a great time. I hope when my kids get a little older I can take a similar trip. I am a self employed hard worker as well and my season will consist of Valley Forge where I am going to take "Not Last" So this sounds like a good time, thanks for sharing, knock em' dead!

Road Trip!!

Sounds like a good time. I've been thinking of doing a weekend trip myself.. either north or south. Let us know how it turns out and if you learned any valuable road lessons. And kick some ass!!!

Hey Sound Waves you close to Danbury? I will be up there Jan 28th to Feb 2nd and I am planning to hit balls every night for a couple of hours. Let me know if this is your neck of the woods. Valley Forge is my local tournament, I live less than a mile from the convention center. I think it is cool that you can go and play in these tournaments and maybe catch one of the top guys and have a chance because the races are short enough. I have practiced a few times with Mika and it's funny how I will be right there with him for the first hour or so before he settles in and then he hits that gear that only the top guys have and I become his racker.

I will say hi Frank, best of luck with your new business, you know I used to manage a Home Depot and a lot of times we were helping guys finish their basements, it would be cool if you could get an "in" with your local one as we were always looking to give leads to our locals guys at my store be it pool tables, home theater or whatever.

Go get em Ray! Why is it every time I read one of your posts the voice in my head has an accent? :D

Seriously, good luck, and get to work on the break! Maybe I can talk Jimmy into taking a ride to one of the events? This is my busy season, but we can make time.

Have fun,

That would be cool, I was going to give Jimmy a call and see if he could go to any but he just spent a week at Derby so I don't know. My break does need a lot of work. Let me know if you are practicing this week and maybe we could play a few sets. Good hearing from you Gerry.

I am about an hour and ten min. from there I would say. If I find a good day for an adventure I will send you a PM. Otherwise I'll see ya in PA.

Thank you Ray, appreciate that. Who or what dept. could I try to get a in with?

Thanks again,
Frankie

Ray,
If you plan to get into any action on this mini tour give me a call. I would bet on you anytime.

Good luck,

Contractor services, the manager there usually is the guy who knows most of the local contractors and what they are up to. The greater ability these guys have to sell the whole job, the better they look to their customers. Ask whoever it is who the big drywall guys or the general contractors are. When they are doing basements it wound't hurt for them to tell their customers that they know a proffesional table installer just in case they were thinking of putting a pool table into the nice new basement they just had done. It might come to nothing but the big Orange Box is a great source of contact for potential customers.

Hey Raybo,

This is Andy Lincoln from the Tiger Pool Tour. I'll be sure to find you at the events. Also, we had to change the schedule around a bit so make sure you check http://www.TigerPoolTour.com to get the latest dates and locations. First event will be at Hagerstown, MD Feb 16/17.

Should be a fun time. The tour has increased in talent level a good bit. Plenty of opportunity for "after tournament" matchups.

Thanks Andy I am under no illusions about the level of play, but I am just really looking forward to getting out there and finding out if I can take down one or two of these guys I keep reading about(yourself included). I know you guys get huge entries which should make it really exciting. For me it has nothing to do with money or a need to prove myself, I just am looking to have a good time at some tournaments before my yard goes crazy in the spring. I am also hoping to meet up with as many AZBR's as I can.
