It's time for me to let go of some of my Titlist collection. Up for sale is a player's cue with three shafts. Very nice example of an oak Titlist. 3 Shafts, everything in good order. No dings on the butt and everything straight together and apart. Here are the specific specs:

Butt: 16oz, 1.250" diameter at the butt, .845" diameter at the joint. Off white phenolic buttcap, and black phenolic flat faced joint. 3/8 x 11 joint pin. Black/white linen wrap which is unpressed.

Shaft 1: 3.6oz, 13.08mm diameter at the ferrule
Shaft 2: 3.2oz, 12.75mm diameter at the ferrule
Shaft 3: 3.3oz, 12.6mm diameter at the ferrule

All shafts test hit and one shaft (12.75mm shaft) played with but in excellent condition. All shafts with linen ferrules, and laminated leather tips. I'm pretty sure they are Talisman tips. All shafts also have micarta inserts in the shafts which provide a really solid hit.

I bought this cue in order to have an example of an oak Titlist and I played the cue a little. The cue has a medium hard hit and feels very solid. All in all, a very nice player's cue. Condition is excellent. Fit/finish is very good.

I'm asking $725 or B/O. I can be contacted by the following methods:

Email: skcheng@optonline.net
Cell: 551-587-3685

Please call or email with any questions/offers etc. I will be listing a few other Titlists in the next week or so, but this is my only oak conversion.

Here are the pics:

Beautiful cue.
Was it left short fullspliced or did he cut it off at the base of the points?
Whats the background on the builder. I am not familiar with him.

Thanks

This is a short splice cue. If it was a full splice, the butt would be oak and not rosewood, which is what I think the butt is. I've contacted Robert Jones via email and he's a very nice guy. He's as busy as he would like to be, so I don't think he takes many orders.

I was going to have Mr. Jones rewrap my cue with white/green linen or a a brown leather wrap, but that was about 8 or 9 cues ago :)

I will forward the email address of Mr. Jones to the buyer of this cue.

Oak Titlists

Great looking cue, oak titlists are my favorite.

I have one that Dale Perry converted years ago and it looks awesome.

For my fellow AZers, I recommend picking up every Oak Titlist you see.

Regards

Actually you are incorrect on that point.
What I mean by a short fullsplice is that the builder left at least 4-6 inches of original handle material below the points. He would have then tendon on a piece of maple below that point and then could add any sleeve material that he desired. Obviously all of this would be hidden by the wrap.

Hi Sev,

I have had about a dozen titlists and I'm sorry if I wasn't more clear. Usually, my "short fullsplice" cues with a handle added I keep unwrapped. This cue has a handle and a butt piece built into the cue. In other words, just the prong of the Titlist was used for the forearm. Then a handle and a butt piece were added. I hope that helps.

Thanks.
That puts us both on the same page. I have 4 titlists that were done in that manner. I like the look of your cue and would be interested in seeing the pics of your other ones. Unfortunately I am more in the market for ones that are still full spliced or as it twer short full spliced. ON the other hand I dont have an example of oak as of yet. So I have a dilema.
