Caught this story on Google News. Haven't heard anything about it until now. Hmm... I knew about the release of the line, but it never really crossed my mind that gay and/or lesbians would be offended by the cue somehow.

Anyway, it's an interesting read.

I think they have a point. When I try to imagine being in their shoes, I can really see how this would be offensive. Basically, it dances on the line between being "a harmless joke (get a sense of humor, blah blah blah)" and sending the message that hate crimes against gays are hilarious and cool, which is really not a harmless message at all.

I am always happy to see billiards and pool in the media. This is just a little different than the usual match reports and endorsment deals I usually see.
