It was a sad day this week for one of the old timers of the game, Rocky Antenucci of Fresno. His wife of nearly 50 years passed away a few days ago. Rocky is also not doing very well and doesnt have that long to live himself. He has been fighting cancer the last few years and is not expected to go on much longer. I hope he is as best as he can be during this very tough time.

Our thoughts are with you Rocky

One of the nicest guys ever to enter a poolroom. And he could play too. Had a warm smile for everyone. Rocky is one of the truly good guys. Take care buddy!

Why does that name sound so familiar? It's a unique name for sure but I am sure I know him better than just passing, either way I hope his health takes a turn for the better soon and he kicks "C" in the ass.

He played at the Sands every year in both events since the beginning.

Ah that's right. It's a shame that a couple of the older players that I remember going to the Sands Regency all the time have either passed away or are in poor health. They are great events and wish I could still attend those tournaments, we always had fun there and had a chance to see old friends.

Horribly sad news. I used to practice with Rocky when I lived in Fresno. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Played pretty sporty as well. His number one priority in life was his wife.

Jay, Rocky wants your money!

Yeah, Rocky is in bad shape but comes into the Pool Room almost every day but he just can't play anymore. HOWEVER Jay, when I told Rocky that you said you beat his Butt in the 70's he said why don't you come by right now and he'll show you how a 77 year old man who has cancer and is so tired he can't stay on his feet will play you a one shot set for all the money you want to bring. He said "nobody beat me in the 70's unless I wanted them to"! He said he broke Ronnie Allen so bad that he had to stay at Rockie's house for a month until he could borrow enough to get back on the road. He also said that was the most expensive win he ever had!
I think the fires were lit a little and if he could he would still be playing all comers.
