I hear you loud and clear, I am somewhat observant when it comes to human moves. Alot of people will say well I beat him, however I hear some say "I won the match" - can you hear the difference? I am a little thin skinned when I read about someone talking about how great it was when I got beat, but it's this kind of intensity that helps me win. There has never been enough $ to motivate me in this game, if you show me a top player who likes to read about one of his losses and then I will show you someone who does not mind losing the match.
I apolagize to center pocket for my little outburst but remember when you hear someone say "I won" - that will be the student of the game response. When you hear them say "he or she got beat"as if your relishing in the fact that one person overcame the other ability and proved he was the better man. This is the ego response, I have been guilty of it before myself so again I acknowledge that I was out of line. Pool does not seem to have much in the way of etiquette so I thought I would share one more story with you that might help explain.
Tommy Kennedy once asked Buddy Hall why he was able to win so many more tournaments than himself, Buddy's response was " Don't take this the wrong way Tommy but you just don't mind losing as much as I do." I think Tommy won the US Open soon thereafter, personally the way I look at it center pocket had alot of gall to mention that on a public forum. But that is the way of the world everyone wants to show you how smart they are. Show me someone who does not mind to hearing about how they lost a close match in any major tournament and I will show u a blooming idiot who doesn't mind losing. By the way when you get beat you either never had a chance or you 'dogged' it real bad neither happened to me I just simply lost a close one. Maybe center pocket is trying to get me an all around opponent right now, remember the guy on the end of this sattelight dish will play and that is no bull.
