I'll be posting pics of this beauty later, but for right now here's the review...

Well to start it off, I have ALWAYS loved the look of this cue. Ever since I first saw it on page 36 of the third edition of the Blue Book of Pool Cues. Since I currently lack pictures on this post, the cue in review is the one with the white/black linen wrap. I was fortunate enough to pick up the cue off of ebay for a very fair price of 750.00. Considering the fact that ALL the inlays are elephant ivory and that the entire cue was made without the help of CNC, I'd say I won this cue at at least half of its original value. The condition of the cue is excellent, no dents, no scratches, and no sign of ever being refinished or reworked in any way. Only downer was that the shaft that came with the cue is not the original that was made for it. Other than that the overall cue is truly eye catching and an absolute dream to play with. The cue is a standard 58 inches in length and weighs in at a solid 19.7 ounces. I havent measured yet to pinpoint the exact balance point but from my own perception it is neither front nor end heavy and is balanced perfectly as a cue should be. The joint is comprised of piloted stainless steel with the classic 5/16x14 screw pin. The hit of the cue to me is very stiff and feels like hitting with a one piece cue. Its nice and responsive and doesnt give a " dead " hit type of feel. I will be changing up a few things with the cue to make it more towards what I like in a cue, for instance.....I will be changinf the wrap to the same color wrap, except I'll be getting it double pressed becasue the current one on there is really rough and last I'm getting an OB Classic partial to get fitted and collar matched to the cue. Anyone else have a Becker, please chime in on this review. I'd love to hear what you think

I was around when Bert Kellerman had that set made. Bert was a collector of chess sets and that was the inspiration for the series. At the time Roland was providing cue repairs at the Grand Prix tour here in Denver. Bert liked to employ the local cue makers for his ideas. Roland made some very nice cues over the years for Bert. I'm guessing between the signature series and the chess series its about 15 to 20 cues in total. So glad you enjoy the cue! I know Bert loved the way they turned out. Congratulations!

Do you still have this cue? If so, would you ever consider selling it?

I recently picked up the Queen cue from this set, and had Roland refinish it. He still had a couple of the small ivory queen inlays, so he made me a set of joint protectors as well.
