Ron Thomas 2x4 cue cases

I'm getting ready to buy a Ron Thomas 2x4 cue case. I'd like to hear what some of the owners on the board think of their Thomas cases. I'm wondering if the case has enough room to put the butt of the cue in with the pin up or are they like It's George cases where the cue and shafts have to be put in a certain order to fit inside the case?

1. Order Directly from RT

2. Tell RT how long you Longest Butt, or Shaft Section with JP's is, and how Short your Shortest Butt, or Shaft Section with JP's is. Ron will make the Case Custom to your Specifications

3. Pin is possible.

4. Order the Best Leather you can afford, as the Signature Leather called Brandy Hornback rocks, or the Designer Leather called, that is Real buffalo also rocks imho.

I have one of his 2x4 cases, and like it very much. I am able to store both my butts pin up, while I have to alternate the shafts between tip up and tip down if carrying the case fully loaded. Hope this is what you were looking for! :D

Coolness!! :) Alternating the shafts is no biggie for me, as I just put my most played shafts in tip up, and the spares can go in tip down...great way to tell them apart!

BTW...Ron's cases are every bit as nice as they look in the pics...actually, nicer. I was very impressed with the workmanship, and his attention to detail. The seamwork is soooo good on my case, that he marked the inside back of both the lid and case, so you can get them lined up and on the right way...THAT is tight seam tolerances there!!

I picked up one of his cases in the black lizard embossed leather...which is on his lower end...from a fellow AZer here. I got it as used, but received the case in brand new condition...still had the bubble wrap filler in the pocket! Just a great case, IMHO. However, I will be ordering one from Ron directly in the future, and will go with the Hornback leather (his higher end leather)...that stuff is the bomb!!!

I'm leaning toward the Brandy Hornback leather for my case. Ron is sending me some leather samples to choose from so I can see the actual leather to help me decide. Thanks for the tips on the Thomas cases.....

Very cool...I have a feeling you'll really flip for the Brandy Hornback...unless Ron has something new that's even nicer. :)

Do let us know what you think of your case once it is completed...with pics, of course. :D
 
A previous thread lists a phone number and address and a non-working website. Are the ph # and address's still good? Wish he had a web sit instead of having to go through Roy. Nothing wrong with Indy Q but I'd rather buy from Ron direct and support the artisan directly.

Ron can be reached at 337-254-8494 spoke ewith him last week about another order.

He has a 2 x 4 in stock, and about 20 1 x 2's.

It is my understanding that Ron has ended his affiliation with Roy @ IndyQ...so you will need to contact him directly...which works out perfect now! :)

I talked to Ron this morning (I'm not taking one of his SBE leftovers but may order a new one based on the samples he's sending me). He's a super-nice guy and makes a great case to boot. I'm likely to get a 2x4 to go with the 1x2 Thomas case I already have.

Believe Ron has reserved a DOMAIN NAME with Go Daddy, but need the skills of a photographer, and web-master in the great State of Louisana.

Told him a while back to go to the local Jr. College, and find some starving student to shoot photos, and build a site for him.
