Before the aiming police start cracking their knuckles ready to dive-in or the drive-by posters get ready to fire a shot off, let me say this thread has nothing to do with aiming systems or anything controversial (I hope).
I just wanted to take a moment and tell you guys a few things about Ron - especially if there are new people joining the site who may not know the guy.
I first found Ron almost a year ago here on AZ because he mentioned he had an aiming system. Being that I'm a student of the game, I HAD to learn it so I gave him a call. Ron jumped right into his system with me (defining his terminology, how to pivot, etc) and had me shooting shots on my home table and then picking up the phone for the next tidbit. Never asked for a penny and didn't know me from adam.
In fact, I recall I was playing around with his information a few days after our original call and he called me out of the blue to ask how I was progressing. I was so impressed with his information I've been up to see him twice in NYC - each time learning a lot of new stuff... aiming/pivoting only being a part of it. This was a number of months ago.
Fast forward to this week. I sent Ron an email a few days ago to ask him about his banking systems and about about a few of the required adjustments which I didn't quite grasp. He emailed me the answers - they worked like a DREAM.
What instigated this thread is that Ron's called me a handful of times since then to check-in with me to make sure I'm banking everything in and to check on my progress - all on his own behalf. It felt good that he followed-up and triple-checked that I "got it" and that I was happy - even though I didn't pay for his time to do so....The guy legitimately gives a shit when he helps people.
Please don't think I'm trying to advertise for Ron, because that's not the tone of my post. I can count on one hand the people who have helped my pool game in the last 15 years to the point of me making a thread to say "THANKS" to him and the world. The others know who they are.
I'm always someone to "pass it forward" when someone helps me. It's so rare you find someone like Ron who gets his life's joy out of helping total strangers pocket balls better.... especially when their information matches their love for the game.
If you're in the process of making new years resolutions and love pool, you're dogging it to not call Ron.
