BILLIARDS player Ronato Alcano yesterday filed perjury charges at the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office against his wife and daughter who earlier filed rape charges against him.

In his complaint, Alcano said his daughter on March 26 made “false, malicious and demeaning statements meant only to malign and degrade my personality.”

The cue artist attached sworn statement of seven witnesses, including his girlfriend Gwendolyn Mondia, who claimed his daughter and his wife are only after a share of his winnings and earnings as a professional billiards player. Alcano won the prestigious 9-ball and 8-ball world championships last year.

The Quezon City-based billiards champ denied he raped his daughter on Nov. 24 and 25 and reiterated that there was no instance when he could sleep with his daughter because “she sleeps together with my other children.”

But Alcano admitted that he invited his daughter to watch the shooting of “Going Bulilit” and the live noontime show “Wowowee” last Nov. 25 and Nov. 29, respectively. He said there was no opportunity for him to sexually abuse her.

Alcano’s daughter also alleged that she was sexually molested in December last year, but Alcano said his daughter, assisted by his estranged wife, filed the rape charges only to “force me to give a portion of my winnings and earnings from my profession.”

Now i don't think Ronnie did it but I'm not sure those statements did him any good. I dont think they'd go over big here in the US anyway-Maybe there is different.

I have never been to the Phillippines, but the southeast asian women I have known are vindictive, aggressive (and sometimes violent), and money hungry.

I never had a doubt they were just after the cash. I could be wrong, and Ronnie could have done it, but it just seems a little odd that all this comes out right after he gets rich.

I don't think that is an appropriate statement to make, you can not say that the women you know are indicative of southeast asian women in general. Which is exactly what your post states.

here is my .02 cents worth....i spent about 5 years in the phillipines while in the service[USN}and from what i observed...if anything phillipino women were very possesive,and most would not harm a fly.of course there may be exceptions.but when the average yearly income is less than 600 us dollars anything is possible.hopefully the truth will come out.

Alot of poeple do bad things after you make some $$$, they think they have something comming and use what ever tactics to get a piece. You dont often hear about this kind of accusations about a busted guy, not to say it dosent happen ,but its more likely to happen to someone who makes alot of $$ fast.

I don't think anyone on this forum should be expressing any opinions on this matter unless they are close personal friends of those involved.

The comments I've seen so far do nothing but make the users of this forum look like idiots - from racial sterotyping of asian women to the comment of "he doesn't look the type".

There are several pool players I admire and look up to, and Ronnie has been one, but for me or anyone else to assume guilt or innocence based on complete conjecture is assinine.

Ronnie could be completely innocent. I hope that is the case, but I'm content to let the authorities sort that out. Think before you post people.

Haha, i didn't say he didn't do it, i am open to the idea that he could have done it, but he doesn't strike me as an individual who would do such a thing :0

Regardless of Race, anyone who is born and raised in a bad society would most definitely become a bad person himself/herself. NATURE is not equal to NURTURE. take TARZAN for example, he thinks he's a monkey !

what I'm trying to say is, if you were a southeast asian and was raised in the streets of south bronx, the violent nature that you had become cannot be attributed for being an asian but rather the nurturing that you have learned from there.

Yeah, it was somewhat broad but can't blame you. I guess you were acquainted with the wrong type of asian women! just a bit of advice, choose wisely !
