Ronnie Alcano's Break and Efren

I have seen most all the supposedly hard breakers and Alcano tops them
all.
Last night he was at Hardtimes Bellflower and was absolutely murdering the balls AND keeping control of the rock!

The balls looked to explode as he hit the rack and the cueball would jump back a couple feet and halt.

Everyone in the room would stop and watch him break even Efren. I say the whole room and last night it was not just regulars but rather
Efren, Jose P, Tony Drago, Marlon, Marcus Chamat, The Raj Hundel, Alcano, Tang Hoa, and maybe 10 more Pro players. They
all watched Alcano break the balls.

-------

When I first got there Raj was hitting some balls and kicking in the last ball.
Efren stepped up and they proceeded to try and kick the 8 ball in. Efren's
creativity stood way out and after one shot Raj shook his head and said
"How do you think of these shots!"
I will try and put up a Wei table version of one of the kicks. It left me in awe.

I would love to see some layouts of the kicks. If anything, Efren is the epitomy of what can be accomplished in Pool if you keep your imagination active when playing. I also like Blackjack's Bruce Lee quote, that the biggest cause of failure is a lack of concentration.

in the recent world cup of pool, even django said that he saw efren do shots that he hasn't seen before! and he's known efren since way way back!

Was there a big tourney at hard times I didn't hear about? How come everyone was there? Did they all go there after the qualifier at Jillians in pasadena?

Doesn't that X-Breaker guy have pics of Efren, Busta, and Alcano on his website claiming they are regular users of that cue? Now he is using a Predator? Hope there is no false advertising there.

The followings are some of the professional players who have purchased/used the X Breaker (in no particular order):

And then it list pro players that have used the X-Breaker. It doesn't say they all are currently using it. False advertising pffff. :D

I believe this is teh kick that Efren tried that Raj asked how he thinks up this stuff. I might be wrong though.

Saying that people have used the X-Breaker (and having pictures to support the claim) is a far cry from saying that all of them own and currently use X-Breakers. The photos alone show Bustamonte and a slew of others actually using the X-Breaker, thus acting as evidence of Richard's claim.

There is no false advertisement at all.

CueTable Help

That's classic Efren.

Here's another one Efren shot just for fun:

Anybody notice Alcano is playing with a Predator cue with a custom made shaft? LOL
He's not using a 314.

Is this true Joey?
Yes.
His shaft looks like it has a tip a shade under 13MM and has a medium stiff taper.
Kinda unusual for a Pinoy shooter.

Joey, just curious, but what is "usual" for a Pinoy shooter? Thanks.

Efren was using a BK2 when i watch him play last week. I'm pretty sure Busta was too.

Did anyone see that 1mm jump in the xtremebilliards link?...pretty nice if you ask me....

Long straight taper.
Alcano had a blueish looking tip though.
Could be Sniper or ElK Master. The usual Pinoy-favored tips nowadays.

Ronnie told me and showed me the cues he was playing with and breaking with and he was using a predator shaft.
He tried my Ariel Carmeli out and I believe he is going to give an Ariel
a test run. He liked it and already met with Ariel.

He tried another break cue and said that the shaft was too fat for him that he liked it smaller. The shaft was around 13mm. I am only guessing that he would like it around 12.5 or so but he pulled his out and it was
pretty small.

I was very impressed with his break. Very hard but he did not loose the rock. I wonder if he can do it consistently or if its a short term thing.
