there is some wiggle room, apparently, and it has been just that - apparent - in chinese and saudi events. in short, these promoters want a good show first and foremost
 
Search for "snooker 155" on youtube, and you will find a video of John Higgins scoring the maximum. This probably wasn't broadcast on TV, so didn't get that record.

Ronnie lost 10-9 to Robertson in the Saudi Masters in August 2025. That’s a major tournament and the same event he made 2 147s in a single match.

He hasn’t played a lot of tournaments lately. Keeps withdrawing. Hopefully he wins this one and runs deep at the Worlds. Would love to see him win #8.

Obviously time to promote the monthly subscription that gives me archival access along with the live event. Judd Trump vs Un-Nooh is in progress with Ronnie coming again soon. Shrug 🤷‍♂️.
