Ronnie O'Sullivan in the IPT is Magnificent

The man is considered by many to be the best of all time in snooker and by others as the greatet to ever wield a cue in any discipline, and he's still in his prime.

I hope to heck he's at Reno.

Some think he's playing pool for the dough, I don't think so, he's a millionaire many times over. We're getting Ronnie here beause he wants to challenge himself, plain and simple.

Hopefully this will open the door for other snooker greats and perhaps three cushion players to try their hand at pool. Maybe we'll see pool players trying those disciplines in Europe.

I'd never seen him before, until a few weeks ago. He was usually surrounded by an entourage of sorts, and then there's this older gentleman who was well dressed that was always in his company. Maybe he was his personal assistant, a sponsor, family member, or a friend. :p

I thought there were some GREAT shots of him taken at the IPT event, even the cheesecake one of him standing in front of the Welcome sign to Vegas! :D

I heard he is not really interested in pool, and that he feels he owes a lot to snooker, so he doesn't intend to abandon the sport, but from what I saw, he seemed to be enjoying the entire event. Watching games when he wasn't playing, laughing at the characters such as Earl.

I figure it was a whole new experience for a billiards event for him. With a social atmosphere that he cannot experience in snooker.

He did pretty well, but it's a real tough ask to expect him to be a top 10 player, and for Ronnie, I can't imagine him being happy as an also ran for a long time.

I can see where O'Sullivan has many fans and followers, but why does it seem like every week a brand new Ronnie O'Sullivan thread pops up, doing the same flag waving and horn tooting?

The cream rises to the top, and he sure seems capable, but why not let his own game speak for itself?

Again, he's referred to as some as the best ever, any discipline.

We have Reyes, Snooker has O'Sullivan, 3C has Blohmdahl.

It was so wierd watching him struggle over patterns, slow playing, and looking tenative and confused at times, the guy is a master of speed and decision making at the snooker table.

Cliff Thornburn, Ronnie White, and Steve Davis all tried their hand well after their prime so watching Ronnie is a once in a lifetime treat.

In Mosconis book, he claimed he beat the world snooker champ pretty good in snooker and just thrashed him in pool, outside of that, I can't recall the world's best snooker man competing regularly against the best in pool in anything more than an exhibition.

Clearly not a man constrained by the tyranny of facts.

Yes, I found Mosconi to be quite arrogant in his bio.

Not that it makes it right, but most icons are arrogant. This makes for good ink.
