Room size for tables?

I'm too lazy to do my own math. One ten foot snooker and one 9 foot pool table.
What is the minimum room size?

Would 20 x 25 do it?

OK and while we're at it what's the minimum room size you'd recommend for a nine foot pool table.

Too crowded...you could play in that space, but you won't be happy.
No room for chairs or watchers.
One of the two tables would be comfortable.
I've been in a few home rooms that felt like jail cells.

I'd say it's pretty damned close.

In the length of the table, 20' is the absolute minimum for my comfort for the 10' table (6" stroke with a 58" cue on both ends of the 10' table). So you're good in that direction.

For the width:
  • 64" x 2 for the stick stroke to the walls,
  • 56" for the 10' table width,
  • 50" for the 9' table
This gives you 19.5'.

That leaves 5.5' (25' - the 19.5') and then you have to subtract two rails (2-6" each?) and two cushions (2" each). That starts putting you 4.3 to 4.8 feet between the tables. That's where comfort comes into play. Tall shooters with long stances might find this way too close.

It would work, but that's where you're going to have to work it out. Put up boxes next to a table that are at about 31-32" high and see if you could confortably do it. I think you'll be sitting on the adjacent table.

I have a garden shop that is 20 x 24 & there's no way it would take a nine foot pool table & a snooker table. A 30 by 30 would be better & have some room for folks to sit.

I put 9' pool and 10' snooker tables in a 24' x 24' room. For shots off the rail on the wall side of both tables, you usually have to jack up a little or use a shorter cue. In between the tables off the rail, your butt is resting on the other table. I'd say 20' is way too narrow. Plenty of room on the ends of both tables at 24' even with chairs. Just go for a 12' snooker table with slightly generous pockets (4 1/4" to 4 1/2") and play snooker and pool on the same table.
