Room size needed for *ft. table?

I'm finishing my basement and theroom is about 17'0 x 13'7. Does anybody know if this is enough room for a 8 ft table? Any input is appreciated, thanx

Welcome to the forum! Yes it is just enough for a 8 footer without having to have your cue jacked up against the walls, playing area of a standard 8 footer is 44" x 88" then add you cue length to each side and thats where you will be when the cueball is froze on the rail. But its not enough for a 9 footer.

It will work with no furniture in the room. If you want some shelves mount them low or higher then normal so you dont bump them with your cue.Also if you want a tv or stereo in there mount it extra high. For your table light if you are going to mount one put 50" above the playing surface of the table this will give you the best light and you wont hit your cue on it as much

I have the same problem my are is 8" to narrow and I use a 60" cue..

From what I hear, a safe rule of thumb is to add 10 feet to the table size to get room size needed.

Example:

4x8 - 14 x 18 size room
