Rotation 9/8 ball combo game.

I thought of a new game. Kind of like 8 ball with a twist to it.

Setup 8 ball rack.

The balls are shot in a numerical order. one player shoots from 1-7 the second player shoots from 15-9.

You break and pocket a ball you have choice. But you need to pocket the 1 or 15 first, If one of them are pocket the next ball in the rotation.

9 ball fouls.

Whoever pockets the 8 ball first wins like nine ball.

I know their is some grey area, but game sounds interesting.

We've played that in the past for shits and giggles.

It may be slower than one pocket…

It tends to be pretty easy to three foul somebody though.

Rotation-eight ball is a relatively standard spot to handicap lop-sided matches.

I think you have to remove the 3-foul rule. They had it in regular eight ball for a while and then wiser heads prevailed.

I play a bit of a training game when alone, break an 8 ball rack, try to run out one side using 8 ball rules, then shoot the left overs in order like 9 ball. Gives me a bit of a focus when playing alone. More challenging that just 9 ball or 8 ball, more fun than doing dull drills.
