Rough Faux leather wrap

It really depends on the wrap, if it's heavily textured, it's gonna stay that way, but you can always try a leather conditioner and see if that helps.

I would replace it but I’m not sure what the best replacement would be. Maybe elephant ear.
I’m looking for a thick soft leather wrap for one of my cues.

Find a boot shop, saddle shop or western store if your worried about damaging the wrap, the deal with this every day.

I highly doubt that tough buffalo hide, if already installed on a cue, can be made "soft" enough to create the feeling that you seek. Save yourself some time and wasted money and just consult with a good cue maker about the correct cue wrap choice for the feeling that you seek.
