Hi,
I saw Roy quite a few times at the Jointed Cue, in Sacramento, CA. It's been about 1.5 years since I last saw him because I moved. He still plays pretty strong but not at the same level as before. You also might see him at Hard Times when the weekend tourneys come about.

He was working for years in Reno at the crap table of the Sands Regency.
He started a comeback and played in a couple of Reno Opens but I have not heard since. I think he changed work place in Nevada. Maybe someone who attended Reno this year can advise if they saw them. He at least likes to show up and rekindle old friendships. If I remeber I ended up having to play him a couple of years ago and still shot pretty jam up but he has lost a lot from inactivity.

Roy is probably dealing Craps somewhere in Reno. They won't let him play Blackjack anywhere because he would rob them.
Roy is a health nut and looks 15-20 years younger than his real age (around 55). When he was playing, he could hold his own with anyone. Talk about a guy who could get down on his belly.
In his prime in the 80's, only Kim, Keith and Doc Brienza were favored over him on the West coast. Add Swanee and Dan Louie to the list.
But that's about it. And Roy might beat any of the above in a 9-Ball match.
I would rate him about even with Doc at that time.

thank you very much i'm going to Reno this thursday to saturday, i would really like to find him, he helped me alot when I was 18, giving me advice on life, books to read, pool, black jack, he was a mentor to me, and I might not be who I am today, he is a great man, last I heard foerever ago he was dealing poker in oregon. ^^^^^ i remember that list, Jay i might know you from the late 80's, i never played near that list, perhaps with the 5 out and the breaks i might have action.
But Roy could tell I wasnt gifted to be a player, but he taught me how to be a hustler in life, now i'm a business man with 700 employees in telemarketing, it was his teachings of philophy and human nature that gave me the tools to get out of school and be a leader not a follower, and he did help my pool game alot, my blackjack game more, i'm proud to say that all the down town joints i'm banned to play single deck if the pit boss recognizes me so now i have to go in on different shifts not to get caught, they havent taken me in the back and photographed me yet, bastards.

Roy and I made many a road trip. Good person and still a close friend. I'll PM his number to you. And BTW, he used to beat Kim, I had half. That was just before Kim started traveling across country and getting some help. After that Kim was a class act and a champion.
