Rubber Grip on Break Cue?

X Breaker

Do you like to have a rubber grip on yoru breaking cue.

Charlie Bryant uses one on both his playing and breaking cue.

I am thinking about offering the rubber grip as an option on the X breaker, what do you think?

Thank you.

If you mean the rubber "slip on" grip common with 3-c players like Earl tried a few years ago... I tried them and didn't like them. I would think it is a cheap enough option to offer though, you wouldn't be out much if people didn't go for them. Personally I don't think people will go for them, a wrapless handle offers plenty of friction. It is available wrapless, right?

It's worth a try. Especially for those with sweaty palms. Im sure that will give them a better grip.

Like most new things in this game it takes a while to get used to. I tend to take on things that are suggested by pros and give ith the full test.
Recently I've been trying to get used to using NO RUBBER Grip and found it sometime challenging. My problem is I have small hands and the good rubber grips add a couple of millimeters to the diameter. There are urethane grips that are thin but impossible to find.

If you're going to offer one make it a good one and let me know what you come up with.

The BreakRAK Cues do NOT have rubber grips, they are sold with NO WRAP, a LINEN WRAP or a Tiger Stack WRAP. To date, that is what the player's who purcase from us want.

The Predator Cues we sell all have NO WRAP or a Linen WRAP.

That wraps up what I know ...

Good Luck to you...

not sure if he still does but I think Mika was using a rubber grip on his powerbreak cue. it was in the "whats in the case" section of insidepool a while ago.

A common problem for 3-C players is that if they have a rubber grip, the butt will not fit in a standard tube-type case. Or if it does go in, it will not come out.

Absolutely true.

Had to go with a custom case from Whitten. He used the liner that's in the shaft tubes for one of the butt tubes. This opened it up just enough.

Well, how about having the grip put on before a match and then taken off after. Will that be too inconvenient?

Thank you.

Um, it is often a real struggle to get the sleeve-type rubber wrap on in the first place. They do not slide on, they roll on. I think repeated rolling/unrolling will cause tears.

I have tried the ones from Meuller and they ripped.

I will have some new ones after Nov, I will see. This is supposed to be a very elastic material which can be taken off repeatedly. I will double check before I officially introduce them.

Thank you for the advice and opinion.

A lot of players don't want to be at the table very long after they lose a match. I've noticed, they often make a rushed exit. I wouldn't mind trying one. It would have to make a huge difference, to be worth the hassle though.

they come standard on the powerbreak 1 by mezz. i love the grip i get on the break. and there is no problem getting it in and out of any case i've owned.
i liked the way it felt so much that i bought a regular mezz shaft for it and i use it as a shooting cue also.

Just get a side-load case instead of an end-load. Longoni makes a nice one.

I've got the Poison VX and I love the rubber grip on it. the cue itself isn't much to write home about but I like the grip a lot.

Is x breaker still around or they go out of business ?I have not heard any thing about them in a long time. One big problem with rubber wraps is the amount of weight it adds to the cue. JMO:) :) :)
