the audience for sudden death 7-ball was the worst ever, here's what was awfully wrong.

1- everyone in the auidence was carrying on with conversations, not paying any attention to the pool in front of them, rude when your on camera!
2-there was only about 30 people in the auidence, very shabby looking!!
3-it was held at the ESPN zone, so there was constant noise and games, and screaming going on, a very stupid place to hold a pool tournament.
this whole thing was very rude and very wrong. the development of pool should be quiet serious and thoughtful, not what was presented on tv, the only good news was, mr. hoemann was caught in the zone, playing better than any player in recent years on espn.

I watched it as well.
It was the most boring pool I've ever seen on T.V.
And the rules are stupid as well.
The audience looked surprised every time they applauded, like the players were interrupting them

Any game when a player hits the cueball 10 mph, makes 2-3 balls and is straight in (not to say that it isn't very impressive), is GAY!!!! I would like to see some 10 ball with the old rules very soon.... Maybe like the Trump 10 ball tourney they had a couple years ago.

Josh said it and I must agree

I'm glad someone else feels the same way!.....THE only good thing about that 7-ball lameness was the players got paid!....whats next?.....5-ball?....PALEEZ!

Right after that fiasco, the "trick shot" thing was on, and it was much more fun to watch!...I almost puked when I just typed that......AND the winner of BOTH "tournaments" made the same amount of money!!!!......$25K

Sad state of affairs when trick shooting, and lameass gameshows are what America sees of our great sport. It feels cheap, staged, and makes me sick to watch.

My Dad was telling me about the GREAT pool matches on wide world of sports and all back in the day. Everyone was looking forward to it coming on, and talking about it. Now he just laughs and changes the channel. He sais, Who wants to watch robots playing 9-ball with "0" personality, or flair. Sadly I agree with him......Whats so different now from way back when 14.1 was the hot ticket? are people now mentally unable to watching 14.1? it sure seemed to work back then! what "changed" to make things what they are today? and who the hell is making the tv choices that are driving pool deeper into the crapper?......anyway.......Gerry

That's why I get concerned when people say we need to do something, anything, to bring more money into pool. What you saw in that 7-ball match is a mere glimpse of what would eventually happen if we do just anything for the sake of money.

are people now mentally unable to watching 14.1?
That's the big question. Some people will watch pool if there's plenty of sensory bombardment, and some feel that poking balls around a table and into holes is pointless.
