I was playing 9 ball with some friends the other day, and an interesting scenario came up. We play call the 9, so if it goes on the break it is spotted. My buddy made the 9 ball on the break, but the 1 ball remained exactly on the spot. We spotted the 9 ball just beneath the 1, which of course made no real shot for my buddy. Is that the correct place to spot the 9 in this case?
