So I'm playing on my G4 last night...just throwing 15 balls out there and banging them in. A ball I tried to make in the corner ratttled, then stopped on the lip. 2 minutes later I made a shot in the side, opposite the corner pocket with the ball on the lip. The ball I made in the side had some speed on it and hit the back of the pocket hard. This must have caused some vibration because then the ball on the lip in the corner dropped.

I've been playing pool fir 46 years and this is the first time something like this has happened. My question is: Is there a rule to deal with this in competition?

if it falls within 5 seconds it stays down
after 5 seconds it is replaced where it was

Others have posted the right answer, but if you want to know the source:

1.7 Balls Settling

A ball may settle slightly after it appears to have stopped, possibly due to slight imperfections
in the ball or the table. Unless this causes a ball to fall into a pocket, it is considered a normal
hazard of play, and the ball will not be moved back. If a ball falls into a pocket as the result of
such settling, it is restored as closely as possible to its original position. If a settling ball falls
into a pocket during or just prior to a shot, and this has an effect on the shot, the referee will
restore the position and the shot will be replayed. The shooter is not penalized for shooting
while a ball is settling. See also 8.3 Ball Pocketed.

If you follow the link to 8.3, you get the five second rule re the ball falling in the pocket.
