Rules to Golf

Does anyone know the rules to the pool game golf? Or maybe you can direct me to a website with the rules? I played it a long time ago on a 12 foot snooker table at Bayou Billiards in Baton Rouge. The object is to make your object ball in all six pockets before your opponent.

Rules

Seems to me when we played each player started from the headspot shooting at the left side pocket as the #1 hole. After that #2 was upper left pocket shooting from where the cue ball was left by the previous player. 3 stokes for a scratch I believe. Not sure about fouls. We played it continously for a while and then it faded. I really enjoyed it, wish I knew exactly what the rules are.

It's an addictive game, and should definately be played on a snooker table with tight pockets. Here are the basics - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golf_%28pool%29

It says the cueball starts anywhere in the kitchen for the players first shots, but I have also seen it played where the cue starts on the headspot.

My favorite game. Played it all my life. The only thing I found wrong with the rules posted on wikipedia is that you DO NOT have to hit a rail after making contact with your ball, as long as you hit a rail first with the cue ball. In other words, you can hit a rail before or after contact with the object ball. Golf is the only game I know of with this rule.

Wonderful game and it is very addictive.

absolutly love the game.
here are some links to previous discussions on the topic.
there are others, ya just got to search a little.
I definitly found out that there really are no standard rules to go by. In one of the links I state how the game is played in Anchorage.
I was able to play some at hardtimes this summer. Got to say that I prefer the rules that are used in Bellflower, not to mention the crazy tight pockets...

thank you for the feedback. I don't have a snooker table to play on, but I get tired of banging nine ball all the time, so I might try golf on a tight pocket nine foot diamond.
