I traded for a Runde era schon and as it is rolled on the table it makes contact with the felt at the joint end about 3/4 ths of the way then raises off the felt about 1/4 of an inch. My question is are warpages fixable, because I am into this cue really cheap and would like to see it refinished. Too nice of a cue to give up on! Any constructive input would be appreciated.

1/4 of an inch is a pretty big warp, are you sure that it's that much? I don't have the experience that most of the guys here have so they may have a solution but I would say that once a butt or shaft of a finished cue is warped that's pretty much how it's going to stay. I guess you could cut the cue somewhere and join on a new handle or forearm depending on what part of the cue is still straight but at that point it might be easier (and not that much more expensive) to just build a new cue, especially if it needs a new forearm and the forearm has complicated veneer point work and/or inlays. I think you would have to have a qualified cuemaker actually look at the cue and evaluate if a repair can be made and if so the extent of the work required and the cost.

If the warp is small and doesn't affect the playability of the cue you can just play with it as it is and you will still have a pretty cue. Lots of older shafts and butts have small wobbles in them and don't roll perfectly straight but they play fine.

A lot depends on which piece is actually warped. I'd be happy to take a look, if you are interested.

Hey Ryan, My cue in the other thread reagrding humidity and warped cues was warped from the point where the handle attaches to the forearm. It was obvious when rolled and was fairly bad, not 1/4" though, more like an 1/8." If the cue shows no more warping in the next 6-12 months can it be assumed that it has acclimated and will not warp more assuming it is stored properly?
I am considering repairing it as I would not feel comfortable selling it in the condition it is in now.

I would say yes. If it moves and then stabilizes for 6-12 months, I would feel that it is acclimated. That does not mean that it will never move again, especially if you move it to a new climate by selling it.
