Do you have any Russ Espiritu cues to show off?
I have one that's in need of a refinish. It believe it went through hurricane Catrina because I grabbed it cheap from that region after the storm. As you can see the signature date is 4-92, so it's got some age. The wrap is trashed. The cue is sound and straight. As I said I got it cheap, but it's the wood and unusual design that caught my eye even more than the price.
What is very unusual about this cue is the forearm design/construction. As you can see there is a metal ring in the forearm. It looks like the points were cut after the ring was put in. I have never seen that construction on another cue. Maybe you have one?
It has very thick veneers on the points as well, look like ebony maybe, or maybe a black dyed wood. So much of this forearm is unusual. Nice BEM. Big white dashed ring at A joint. I think it looks nice. Cool cue. Is that zebrawood in those points and butt sleeve? Whatever it is, it has great figure and looks great with the really nice BEM.
Cue is sound and straight. Nice wood. Shaft needs a new tenon for the ferrule as it was cut off and a slip on ferrule was on it when I found it. I had intended to send it to Russ for refinish, but now it will likely go to Proficient. I waited too long.
