Russian Pyramid Billiards, please educate.

I have just discovered Russian Pyramid Billiards on you tube. I have never heard of it. Could anyone give the history and rules of the game? The pockets are outragious.

I know of only one table in my country (The Netherlands), and I haven't tried it myself. I hope someone can chime in who has some actual experience on these tables. The pockets are 74mm and the balls 68mm btw.

Hard to imagine how beginners get started in this game. They miss by feet not inches and forget about millimeters. Im guessing it would take a beer guzzling party girl maybe 2 months of steady play before she scared a pocket from more than 6 inches.
