I did find that out, after the fact. I attempted to change the date, but that seems to be the only weekend in May, that we can have it.We will do something special for all the ladies who come out.

This is a great tournament!! Not to mention great food!!
Make plans to attend this one : )

Uh oh. I was going to bring TWO young'uns, this time. But, with it being on Mother's Day, chances are slim any of us will be able to make the trip. Both of the guys are very family oriented and will want to spend the day with their moms and we may have our grandkids on that day. We have all been looking forward to this trip for months.

Bummer! They aren't going to like hearing this news. I will check to see, though.

Glad I checked for a thread on the tournament this early.

Tourney is this Sunday!! We should have a GREAT turn out for this. Remember, ladies recieve 1/2 off entry!!

Minimum age???

Maximum number of entries???

How many pool tables for the tourney matches???

We are making last minute checks with the folks up here. If we find at least 2 people to go with us, we should be making the trip.

Hey Renee,
We'll max out at 64 entries. We'll be playing the tourney on 7 dynamo coin tables.
The minimum age is 18, UNLESS you are with a parent or legal guardian. With parent or legal guardian, you can be any age.

I would love it if y'all could make it!!

is it going to be an open?

Howdy
is this going to be an open or are masters and champions invited
( I ask because if it is open I know a few folks who will be there)

Good question!!
We do not put a stipulation on who enters, so it is open to anyone.

Well, it looks as though we won't be able to make it, this time. The two young men are unable to make the trip and one of our sons is doing his last 2 days of moving, this weekend, so we get to babysit.

Thanks for the answers to my questions. The guys are hoping to make it to the next event. When will that one be.... August? Last year it was on our anniversary. As soon as you set a date, let us know, so we can spread the word up here and have more time to get commitments.

Good luck to all who get to go to the tournament! It's a super event and we really wish we could be there, but this one just isn't going to work for us.

Good luck to all who go. Travel safe, too. Hope to see you next time around.

Sorry Trace. It just didn't work out. I was giving it a last minute try, tho.

Be sure to let us know how the tournament ends up. Will it be streamed?

Well....

Mother's Day is not a good day to run a tournament. :) The field at Rusty's was small, (22) but strong.

The day started well, but a little later than expected. We moved the sign up times back a little to allow those that wanted to get in, to be able to do so, and have a good showing.

In the end, Ralph Cortez took the hot seat by beating Chen in a close match. The biggest obstacle for Chen to over come was the break. On two crucial turns at breaking, after crushing the balls, nothing went down.

Jose Zaragosa took the fourth place finish, loosing to Damian Mendoza. Damian and Chen then had a back and fourth match. Damian jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but two games later it was tied 2-2. Chen then went up, only to have Damian tie it 3-3. Both players playing very well. Two games later and it's a hill hill match. Chen brakes, and again, comes up dry. Balls are laid out pretty well. Only one or two problem areas. Damian looks to be in control and is running out. Second to last ball and he gets into trouble, and ends up missing the ball to get a tough shape on his link ball, leaving Chen a wide open table. Chen does not miss, leaving Damian with the third place finish.

Chen and Ralph take a split. While it would have been great to watch that match, I can also understand both of their reasonings.

All in all, it was some really good pool to watch. All matches seemed to be able to go to either opponent.

We would like to thank all those that came out and had a great time. If you weren't able to get out to this one, there will be two more later this year. Hope to see you then. And no matter what tournaments you're going to, be safe. Hope to see ya'll next time.

Sorry to hear the turnout was so small, but glad you managed to pull off a great tournament, as always. Wish we could have made it, but... We'll try to make it to the August event.

Congrats to the winners!
