Seeing as I haven't been to Rusty's I thought I'd check out their website. I recognise a couple of faces on their gallery so I know the competition will be good!

Yea, should be a good one. Quite a few good players go there.

This is getting close now. Think I might talk to my buddies & see if we can make a day of it!

How much to play?

Will the tables be open? What will the cue ball be? If the tables are NOT open, then how much per game?

Thanks,

Ray

The tables wont be open and they are 75 cents a game. The tournament will be played using Aramith cueballs.

what is the web address?

It'll just be the usual Sunday night tourney at Volcano's for me, although I have a feeling it might be quiet with this event on!

Yep tons of suckers in that area for a bar box...to bad TJ or someone will snap it off

Ugh, bar boxes. Not my favourite, although I did manage 3rd out of 32 at RJ's a few weeks back on the little tables.

Still, it's the same for everyone & it really does sound like a fun day. I hope someone will post how it turns out.

Results

36 players showed up. I thought that was awesome, since it was the first time they held this event. :) TJ was the last to show up... during the calcutta even (he signed up earlier, but we weren't sure if he was gonna make it in time or not). Al Mason had signed up, but he didn't show.

In the end, Mark Smith got 4th, JP Kinman got 3rd, Jeff Franklin got 1st and he did that by double dipping TJ in the finals. 5th/6th was filled by Norm Small and Doug Winnett.

Top Picks (besides above mentioned) were Jose Zaragosa, Vince Miller, Curt Culbertson, Robert Clark, Dylan Weinheimer, Steve Game, and Tony Hinojosa.

calcutta:
1st 400
2nd 200
3rd 100

tourney payouts: ($360 added by house)
1st 450
2nd 300
3rd 175
4th 75
5/6 40 each

When I left, second break contest was going on, mini tournaments had started, dunking booth was in full swing, and the free cookout was hopping.

GREAT anniversary party!

Sounds like a great day! I consoled myself by taking 3rd place in the usual tourney. I lost twice to the same guy. Damn that Run The Century!!!!!

I'll get him next time!:D
