I was told by a close friend of the Scruggs family things are not well with Timmy.I am a personal fan of Timmy's work and I feel Bad for the family.I saw Tim not but 7 months ago and he looked fine just a little drained or tierd.I do not know weather to send a card or what you do in this situation.I must have 10 of his cues he made himself without Mike.

Not saying Mike is a lesser I have a cue from him also and love it but I have been playing with a early 80s scruggs for 20years now and it is a terror on any opponant.Mike has been with Tim forever and he is a great cue maker in his own right that is why I own a MC

I am not sure how I would take it if I could not call Tim up and just ship him my cue and get it retiped or shafts cleaned or wrap or what. That small conversation that he takes the time to give you.He is a great guy and great cue maker and everyone must admit he makes one heck of a cue and has been there from the start.I think he makes the best shooting cue ever made but that is my opinion that I am aware.

I just get a cold feeling when I think of it.It is like the next Balabushka but Tim made a better cue.I know I can attribute alot of wins just from my scruggs cues help over my normal ability. Then I talked to another friend and he told me scruggs went up in price by $400 a couple months ago for just a basic model. Now I know a bunch of guys have super ivory scrimshawed cues from him but alot of us opted for players and they play a ton.

You can very easy become one with a scruggs cue and stick that cueball wherever you want.Just a sad note as others posted it on other boards but not here.I had no Idea he had problems and I am a huge scruggs fan especially for the older cues as players.I just prefer the old 5/16/14 threads Tim installed but the threads like Mike installs are great also.I just like the old ones.Anyone know more about this situation?Should I send a card or what man ? The guy has done alot of work for me over the years and never a complaint.

It would floor me if something happened to him and leave a cold spot in my heart

Tim is a Great Guy..... I hope He gets well, He's not only a credit to our sport but to Humanity as well. P.S. plus he makes the best hittin' Cue out there

I would like to respond to this post with up to the minute imformation. Tim and Mike are some of my best personal friends. I usually speak with them 2 or 3 times a week and have breakfast with them every Saturday for a least the last 3 years.

Tim and Mike, have raised their prices only once recently, that was 2 years ago. Materials and the cost of living have affected all of us. Compared with the few other very high quality custom hand made cuemakers, their prices are very competitive, with impecable workmanship, great playing cues with lasting value.

Tim underwent Heart surgery 2 years ago, and since has been in great shape. He is always in his usually easy going mood, with all his jokes. He looks great, watches what he eats and walks daily. Quite frankly, he recently has been more "hands on" with cue details and new design, then ever. That's where I come in, This past Saturday I came up with some new designs, and Tim, Mike,I reviewed, and refined these designs for future use. Tim offering many suggestions.

Tim is very much as excited as ever about his cue designs and construction improvements; and I must say he is a hell of a lot of fun to be around, he's always upbeat, and quick with words of incouragement.

Someone has certainly given you incorrect imformation.

If you have some work to be done, give Tim a call, he's always in his shop 6 Days a week.

Glad it was BS.I spent all week waiting and desireing to play pool. When I heard it I did not play for the weekend.I was done and sad.Your right man Tim is the man and it would also hurt just as bad if something happened to Mike.

Makes me feel bad I posted the thread now.Rick is the one who insisted on it.Your right though I am no spring chicken but when I heard it I was done shooting .I just went home.Glad you called and when I see Rick he will get a piece of my mind. That is nothing to say if you do not have the facts.

Scruggs cues are the best cues ever made in my mind and play the best.Tim and mike are both great guys and have been 110% with me. Tim also should be recognised for more than just making the best playing cue ever made.Sorry for the post I had to get the facts. As for prices I think the cues sell for 1/2 what they are worth or less. They should be double or tripple that amount.Look it, those splices are wicked true and the cues play almost by themselves.I think they are the best ever made and should have been the ones used in the color of money. They outplay any Balabushka and I am sorry Gus but the points and playability is alot better than my gus or tasc.

Now this is a fact of Tim.You take a old gas bubble like me and throw a tear in his eye and make him leave a pool room upset over Tim that shows how much impact the man has made in pool and in cues.Scruggs are the best cues ever made and made by the best maker.I am sorry for the post now how was I to know and I meant no disrespect.I have a few of scruggs cues and even doubles and will continue to get my cues done at scruggs.I am embarresed now and sorry Tim I had no Idea.

This just shows how much Tim Scruggs means to us all.I know I took them for granet till I heard that story.I will saver the time more with him now that is for sure.Scruggs are the best ever made.

Although Mike Lambros has certainly lent his skills in helping Tim become a great cuemaker, it should not be forgotten that Tim got his start in the cuemaking business pushing a broom (and later beginning cuemaking) in Dan Janes and Billy Stroud's shop many years ago. This was back in the late 60's before Dan and Billy split up, and most certainly had some early influence on his cuemaking knowledge, and a creative start in his dimensional design process. Just wanted to give props where they're certainly due! :D

Edit...Apparently it's Mike Cochran, not Mike Lambros...my mistake, and no disrespect intended to either Mike!
