I have decided to purchase a couple sets of sanding mandrels, however im not for sure what diameter i should get for both sets. Also does anyone know someone that will machine them?
I bought mine from Chris Hightower...works great talk to him he will steer you in the right direction.

IF I could make just one suggestion to all cuemakers who are contemplating having carbide mandrels made it would be to go to //.842 // for the finished diameter . . .
There has been and will continue to be a concerted effort to standardize to this dimension . . . and knowing what I know about "things" on the horizon those who go to the //.842 // will be well served in the future . . .

Why would someone push for a standard size of .842" ?
I would like to see the standard go to .850" if there was ever going to be a standard.
Too thin for my liking as well.Because the Chinese made a lot of stuff and being able to produce it at one size saves them money and companies like Predator can sell an aftermarket shaft that would fit the joint diameter of most cues and not have to offer custom sizes or be undermined by those that do. Perhaps they can convince the Germans to change from .838?
