Hey guys, I’m getting a shipment of the new and improved sardo tight racks (M-5000) on the 19th of December. If you would like to place an early order you can do so now. They will probably go fast so I have the site ready for Christmas orders:

http://www.pool-tables-cues.com/products/Sardo-Tight-Rack/The-Sardo-Tight-Rack-M-5000/186/1/1

No pictures are available from the manufacturer yet but here is the description of the new rack:
Lou Sardo Products is proud to announce the Sardo M-5000 rack is now available. The Sardo M-5000 is the Official Rack of the 2005 through 2007 International Pool Tour and will be used in all IPT events. The IPT tournaments will be televised on major television network which will give the Sardo M-5000 rack incredible visibility and exposure to millions of viewers.

The Sardo M-5000 rack is made of durable, carbonate plastic which makes the unit extremely durable and sturdy. The side wings and base are all one piece.

There are numerous advantages and reasons to use the Sardo M-5000 Rack. Some of these advantages are that the Sardo M-5000 is 4 inches from the surface of the table (compared to 7 inches on the Sardo M-3000). The new Sardo M-5000 Rack weighs only 1 and a half pounds (compared to 3 and one-half pounds for the M-3000).

The balls are visible by looking directly through a maze of pressure pins which eliminates the possibility of glare (as compared to the plastic shield on the M-3000). The crystal-looking surface of the Sardo M-5000 rack makes it beautiful as well as sturdy. The Sardo M-5000Rack comes with a specially designed rack holder that can be easily mounted to any pool table for easy accessibility. There is no charge to you for the rack holder.

Here is a quote from the manufacturer reguarding Christmas orders:
For orders you'll get between now and Christmas, we could send the customer a Gift Certificate with the photo of the M-5000 rack and an explanation about the shipping delay and assuring them that they will be getting the best, newest rack available and that it will be worth waiting for. At least, the certificate can be wrapped and will let them know that the Sardo M-5000 will be shipped at the earliest possible date.

If you have any questions or comments please shoot over an email to webmaster@poolfool.com, ask for Derek at 800-290-3932, or Click Live Help on the website.

I Hope this gives you an early jump on the new Sardo Tight Rack!

Dang. I just now finally broke down and bought a Sardo M-3000. Oh well. I'm interested to see how they changed the design. I'm sure these will sell quick.

Some questions -

1) Will this still require a table to be setup for a Sardo immediately after being re-covered or can it be setup on a table that has reasonably good-condition cloth but is not brand new?

2) I like that they've finally included a rack holder for the table but will this be able to be fitted to tables with a wide gap between the skirts and the frame like a Gold Crown?

3) What is the estimated shipping date if they will not be able to make Christmas?

BTW IMHO dropping the price is the smartest thing Sardo can do if they want their racks to even become widely accepted. They need to get it down under $50 bucks then it becomes a no-brainer for serious home users and for tournament rooms in Pool Halls.

So you're just helping to take orders right, cos I see that you're selling it at the same price that they're selling it?

thanks,
ray

You can buy a carry case for the rack but its kinda expensive.
The price is not an issue if I want to protect the rack while carrying it.
Thanks I will have to look into it.

Just having my first cup of coffee this morning and figured id stop by and see how this post was doing. I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can but i have limited info on the new product as of now.

I quote 10-14 Business days at the most to keep myself safe. You can have it rush ordered though. 2 Day shipping from the 19th and you would recieve it by the 22nd and in time for christmas.

About pricing... I totally agree the $169 retail for the M-3000 was out of MANY players price ranges. The new retail price of $69.95 is great! What the heck, how about this... If any of you would like to buy this new rack call in asap and let the sales girls know you are from AZBilliards. I'll get them to quote you for $60.00 Free Shipping. How does that sound?

Do they make a carry case for us players who would like to take it to the pool halls?

It comes with a rack holder, im not sure if this is considered the carrying case or not. No more information has been released from the manufacturer.

Price sounds very resonable. If you can answer my question about whether the cloth needs to be brand new or not and you may have a sale!

Woudnt that be a judgment call on your part? If you think your cloth is old and has obstacles on it that would prevent the balls from remaining in a perfect rack, then YES change you cloth. Otherwise why would you need to change it?

I got in and ordered a new Sardo. Any idea as to when they will ship Mr.PoolFool?

Please be sure to have a picture posted of the look on your face when you realize that it was the cloth that had to be broken in, not the cue:D

I cracks me up;)
