Now is the time for all good pool players to bring it on. The B side of the charts began at 10:00 a.m. this morning, not a golden hour for my camp.

On the losers' side, Danny Basavich defeated Ronnie Wiseman, 9 to 6. Keith McCready defeated Karen Corr, 9 to 4.

Winners' bracket matches begin at 12:00 p.m.

The players on the B side of the chart who are struggling to stay in the tournament have to play consecutive matches throughout Saturday, 10:00 a.m., 12:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. 4:00 p.m., et cetera.

Last evening, a bunch of pool folk were hanging out at the craps table, and the electricity was in the air. People were laughing, giving each other the high fives, and really having a good time. We made a little score and will be back tonight for more! :D

Right now, the 12:00 p.m. matches are in progress. Keith is playing Eddie "Spanish Pete" Vasquez from New York City. It's going to be tough here on in for every player in this event to stay alive.

Just a brief update here in Verona.

Jennie, you still signed on? I was just curious if you knew the current scores of the winners side matches ....

The winning side matches do not start till 2pm EST. So no scores to report.
Thanks Steve... The post said 12... guess she didn't mean to put the "1" there. ;)

Gerry Slivka is still alive on the B side of the charts, as is Keith McCready.

Little John just won an exciting match against Joey K., sending Joey K. home.

Chris Bartrum beat Ryan McCreesh.

These losers' bracket matches got these players in the FIRST money round.

Timberly, you're right. 2:00 is the winners' bracket matches, and the losers' bracket matches will begin at 4:00.

I don't have any scores, but I'll try to catch some when I go back downstairs.

Shawn Putnam vs. Efren Reyes in progress

The score is 2 to 2 as of the time of this writing between Shawn and Efren, racing to 9.

All eyes are on this match. Now the score is Shawn 7, Efren Reyes 5.

Wow, what a railbird's delight. Efren Reyes versus Shawn Putnan are NOW currently on the infamous hill-hill.

Jose Parica knocked Mike Massey to the B side. Jose will play Johnny Archer next.

Milkshake Mikey lost 9 to zero against Johnny Archer, but Milkshake Mikey is still in this tournament on the B side.

Bustamante won his match against "Jockey" a/k/a Vongxay.

Keith players Steve Lillis at 4:00.

ummmm HELLO?!?!?!??!?!?!? Anyone from there on here? I've got to leave for that damned wedding reception here in a sec....

Keith went down at the 6:00 p.m. match, losing 9 to 5 to Shawn Putnam. Shawn shot out of the gate like a rocket, 4-zip. Keith only got one shot at the table, which was a safety play left by Shawn, and he couldn't seem to get going. Then he caught a little lightning in the jug and seemed to be in rhythm. Each game thereafter was a run-out by Shawn who is still in this race to the winner's circle.

Jose Parica is playing Johnny Archer in the winner's side. Ralf Souquet is playing Efren Reyes on the A side of the charts.

Gotta give credit to Milkshake Mike Hurley who ended up cashing in this event. This is his first major tournament, and he came in 17th through 24th, pocketing $550, as did Keith.

During the evening matinee, Mike Massey put on a first-class exhibition which drew a large crowd in the auditorium. Mike did his finger pool and other trick shots which were well received by all in attendance.

I wish I could remember who is still in and who is out, but after Team McCready went south, a whole motley crew of friends followed him like the Pied Piper to the crap tables.

The Joss Tour Season Finale win is still up for grabs, and there are a few dark horses in the race to the winner's circle. A young man from Laos they call "Super Man" whose name is Vongxway defeated Danny Harriman, and he is having a great tournament.

I have met MANY readers, members, and lurkers from AzBilliards Discussion Forum here at the Turning Stone Casino. I want to give a big "hello" to the Parsippany Kid, a regular on this forum who hasn't posted quite yet. ;)

That's about all folks!

Wow. I guess I'm the only one up here posting from Turning Stone.

I am right NOW typing on Diana Hoppe's laptop in the tournament room. Shawn Putnam is playing Jose Parica, Jose 6, Shawn 4. Shawn just took a break and walked out of the tournament room, rubbing his head.

Niels Feijen is playing Jeff Kennedy from Canada. The score is 3 to 3.

Earl Strickland is playing Ralf Souquet, and the score is 5 to 4.

Danny Basavich is playing Bob Maidhoff, Danny 6 and Bob 2.

All of the above referenced are loser bracket matches.

The way I read the chart, the four men left standing in the winners' brackets at the time of this writing is: Efren Reyes versus Dennis Hatch and Francisco Bustamante versus Johnny Archer. The cream does rise to the top!

Hey, Lar. I'm typing on Diana's laptop. It is sooooooooooo much better than my used one. The keyboard is easier, too.

We'll be coming home tomorrow. We covered expenses and hope to make a small score tonight at the crap tables.

I miss Sammy! See you soon.

Hey Jam

Sorry I couldnt get up there wanted to play but since the little accident with a knife through the hand havent been playing well enough. How is my buddy Shorty doing, also do me a favor and say hi to Mike web.

Well I am off to vegas in a couple so the crap table is also in my future.

Good luck up there to both you and keith

Bye for now

Danny just beat Bob Maidhoff from Drexel Hills. He is sitting here right now with me and Diana Hoppe while the other matches are going on.

Danny said he is really tired. He just won SIX IN A ROW today on the losers' side. His biggest wins were against Ronnie Wiseman, 9 to 2, and Corey Deuel, 9 to 3.

Danny said the pockets are very tight, and the balls on the break is very minimal. He said he ain't seen many peopel run more than 2 racks in a row, which he said in his opinion was amazing.

Kid Delicious said that these are the best conditions he has ever played in a pro event in his life, and this tournament is a lot like the Masters in golf, says Danny. It has the toughest conditions, and the better player is going to win more often.

That's it for now.
