For the past year & a half, my game has been going
steadily downhill. Heading into DCC this year I had hit rock
bottom. While in the AZ room Scott Lee pointed out a few
things to me I USED to know but had forgotten.
While there I started to see immediate improvement and
I've been building on it since I got home. An epiphany!
My love for the game has returned.
My deep appeciation to Scott Lee for taking a little time with me.

always nice when someone takes the time and effort to help you out, especially when you're frustrated..... nice job Scott....

Wanna share what you were doing wrong maybe help out others who have been struggling???

its incredible how you can "forget" things that work for you. I keep a little notebook with me in my case, and when things are going way right or way wrong or i get an epiphany on the table, i will jot down notes (during practice time or after im done if its a match). Alot of times when my game is off i can go back to my notes and literally be shooting better in minutes cuz i will read something i have "forgotten"

Well, one thing I was doing was choking way up on the cue
and throwing my shoulder into the shot.
He told me a big guy like me had to get much further back
with my grip. Plus, he had me practicing swinging my forearm
and keeping my upper arm and shoulder still.

This is apparently why some golf pros will take their coaches
with them.

Scott Lee

Scott Lee is a good guy with a great personality. I enjoyed what few games we played in the AZB room. I would say he's a good instructor
that any player on any level could learn something from.

Exactly right my friend. Things can creep into your game (in golf and pool) and gradually change your stroke or swing (in golfs case). It can be something so subtle that you don't notice it, and over time will get worse. Someone with a trained eye can pick up on it right away and help to get you straightened out VERY quickly. In golf, there have been a few with the attitude of, "why would I listen to a teacher that couldn't beat me on the course?". Well, I'll tel you why...there is no substitute for talent, but some folks' talent is helping pick out and help fix what's going wrong with the person who has the shooting/swinging talent. Can Tiger Woods' swing coach play as well as Tiger? NO WAY! But, can Tiger identify little swing flaws, and correct them before they become ingrained? Probably not. He could try to figure things out from video of swings when swinging well vs. when he is not, but it's a whole lot easier to hit the range with a coach, hear his feedback, and fix it (or work on it) right there on the spot.
I'm certain the same type of trained eye is what helped you out....good going, good luck, and play well!
