I am constantly amazed at people who take a supposedly nice cue and lay it on a rough surface to photograph it. Pet peeve. Sorry.

I'm talking about the ebay listing, not you TRH.

Scott

I don't think he could take offense since his is suspended...lol. That is unless he considers air a "rough surface".

That's a SW second.
No checkered rings and the wood might have a blemish.

I know I emailed the seller that it was and he blew me off.
First line has the SW rings.

They do an number a year, with different woods, they have phenolic butt caps and collars (different colors too) see erikleecues.com; there is usu a slight imperfection in the grain of the wood, and they sell them to customers on their waiting list--anyway, they way you can tell is they have the single maple ring, and they do not have a normal finish only an epoxy resin coat, --where they get the name satin finish.

SouthWest Satin Cues

As far as I know, SouthWest Satin cues are not seconds. Laurie Franklin make a few batches of Satins every few years. Most of them are standard birdseye maple cues with no checkered rings but just wood veneer rings. The pins are not stamped with the serial number and cactus but if you pop off the rubber bumper, theres a white sticker in there with the year and number number written. And the finish of the cue is also different. Its not the regular hi-gloss kind but more a rub.

Thats what I know of them. If someone else has more information about them, feel free to correct me..
