.. I have been enjoying the stream by insidepool.tv and must say I like the format of alternate break, best of 3-sets races to 8, single elimination.....

Speaking as a viewer it seems there is more importance on being a good breaker because you do not get the chance to get hot with a couple good breaks in a row and put a pack together. Every break counts and winning when it is your break is a must (holding serve).

A lot of matches are going to the third set and hill/hill in one the sets seems to be the norm.

Adding to the intensity is the single elimination... best 2 of 3 .. good-bye...

Not sure what a player in this format would say but I find it makes for GREAT viewing... (thanks insidepool for that)

Here's the downside of the format: long,
drawn-out marathon matches due to threat of single elimination and no shot clock enforcement.

well.. with the potential of 45 games (8/7, 8/7, 8/7) it is like a race to 23 going hill / hill.. I believe the time line has been similar to some of the recent TAR and accu-stats PPV with a similar number of games.... I like the give and take and the momentum changes when move on or go home is on the line.

Personally, I think these matches are way too long. I don't mind best of three sets, but a race to five, best of three sets would be enough.

Leave the marathon matches for TAR, we can do without them in a low purse, four day event.

Safe to say that cinderella won't be found in the late stages of this marathon.
