I found a Schmelke R050 available for purchase for about $100.

I know nothing about Schmelke cues and was wondering what anyone's thoughts were.

Thanks in advance.

New...Used? Excellent cue. I have 2 Schmelke's. They play well. Finish is very nice. If it's in perfect condition buy it...otherwise pay the difference and buy new. I'm tempted to buy an R010 for $105 with a 5/16-18.

It is used. Can get new for $150

I like Schmelke and think 100 is a fair deal if it is in good shape.

Schmelke's are very solid cues. Well made with a medium hit. If it were me, I'd buy used at $100 if it's in good condition because I'd put my own dings in it in the first 6 months anyway.

Considering that they make the blanks for a good number of "custom" builders, how can you go wrong? As long as it's in good shape and it feels right to you, it might be the best $100 you ever spend on a cue.

A few years back I spent $200 on a NOS McDermott M 11 B. Now I have a bunch of much more expensive cues sitting in cases, very lonely. It kind of sucks when that happens.

Schmelke makes very nice cues. Cannot beat them for the price. It will last years if not decades.

Even if it lasted 10 years, you can buy another one, it's only a hundred bucks :)

My son needs a new baseball bat every year ($400), they don't last more than one season when you play 60 games, plus practices all winter ;)

I have a Schmelke in a 64 inch cue 32 inch butt 32 inch shafts. 14.5 mm shafts. It's a beast but a nicely made cue.
