schon cue

hello everyone!

i'm about to buy a new cue. i tried couple of them and kinda fell in love with schon. the hit is perfect to me, so is the balance of the cue.

the problem is the following: i tried a ltd-series made of birdseye maple, don't really like the looks of it though.
i'm considering to buy a stl1-eb with an ebony butt. it looks great to me, but i haven't try it and have no possibility to do it in the future.
has anybody hit with this cue?

are the balance points the same in all schon cues? can i assume, that the hit feels the same too?
i know, that the ebony butt is heavier then a maple one. but would the balance point be different?

i hope somebody can help me on this!
i would appreciate your answers very much!

best regards

I have a new schon. and I've played with several over the years. I think they are excellent. As far as I know they are all balanced a bit infront of the wrap. Also, I believe they are all cored for stability and balance. I love mine.

My dailey player has been my troy. But I have to say I own 3 schons an love the solid hit. I stated on a post a minute ago about buying one here for $326.00 that was perfect. An the ease of ordering another shaft for a bit more than $100.00 is great. An all the balance points seem the same on all 3 cues.

Can't go wrong with a schon!

You can't go wrong with a Schon. I own many for the most part they hit the same. But with the different woods they do hit a little different (Bem,Ebony etc.) But and and all Schons play very good IMO.

I have owned 3 Schons. The balance point has always been 18.5" from the butt. You will find it to be the same on all of them.

schon

I just bought a Schon STL-1. It has a great hit and love the simplicity and clean look. Came w/ an extra Predator shaft. I also got another Schon and I am trying to figure out the model- It has double and different points inside one another with diamonds inside that, but plain black butt below the wrap- Beautiful cue- I might consider parting with one of them?? thanks, Dave

The ebony forearmed cues are cored to reduce the weight and keep the balance point in the same area.
