I have the chance to buy a Schon STL-4. It doesn't have the word Schon in script on the shaft. I does have Schon 13 on the collar by the joint. Is this the right shaft or is it a copy.All the ones I find on the internet have Schon written on the shaft. Is this a older cue?Thanks again for the help
 
schon 13 stamp is from 93, they came out with it that year to try and stop fakes. Now they put it on the shaft.
 
The shaft is from 1993, to the best of my knowledge that is the only year they put Schon on the collar with some saying the shaft size. I actually have a Schon 13.5 31 inch shaft like this. Prior to 93 the shafts did not say Schon on them, after 93 they began having schon on the wood of the shaft like they still do now. Schon also used a snub nosed 5/16x14 pin in 93. These were changes made by Evan Clarke after Bob Runde left Schon. THx

Buy it - if you like the price. I have one and they hit great! An aftermarket 5/16/14 thread shaft will fit right on it too. I use a Predator with mine. You can't go wrong with this cue...
