Schon cues: Different hits?

I have noticed that many schons have different hits. Some of them hit really soft and others hit really hard. Does the tip/shaft have anything to do with this?

Schons all come stock with the same shaft, joint and tip to the best of my knowledge, so I don't think it's any of those. They do offer different ferrules, however. Maybe that has something to do with it. Also, the overall weight of the cue could possibly be affecting the feel of the hit.

Hmm, Yea I use a Z shaft on my schon and my friend uses a 314 on his. Mine seems to hit harder than his, although mine is 18 oz and his is 19. Maybe that weight difference makes it hit harder? I dunno

it's probably the more conical shaped shaft that's doing that

Depending on the tipe they could have a lot to do with how each cue hits.

i would say it is the tip that make it different.i played with 5 different Schons already and they all hit the same.

If their tips and ferrules are consistent, their woods might not be.

Even with the same weight, tip and ferrule.....no two pieces of wood are exactly alike. Even a mass produced Z-2 will feel a little different from shaft to shaft. They say schons all hit the same, and it's close.....but I feel subtle differences.
