Schon hit

I wish you guys wouldn't keep putting a rubber stamp of approval on Predators all the time. For replacement shafts, McD I.C.E. or the Univeral shaft are super products. I think they're superior.

I've never tried the McD I series. I like the universal LS shaft a lot. I doubt anyone has a high end custom cue out there that hits any better than my universal/budweiser combo.

My I-2 is piloted and has a silver ring on the collar as well. The pilot doesn't fit as tightly into the joint on that last turn however, and the pin seems a bit looser in the threads while you're screwing it on.

Is it piloted as much as the Schon? It wouldn't fit a Joss or Falcon then.

I don't have the two with me now, but my guess is no...and that's why its not as snug. If you go to the Seyberts I-shaft page they show the different variations of joints and collars they offer. I didn't pay as much as they list though ;)

Are you still satisfied with your I-1? Your earlier comments played a role in my purchase (along with SteveP's).

I still do like the I-1, however I think I lean even more toward the Universal, it has more forward balance and weight.

Schon's hit is fantastic. Also they have great balance, feel, and detail. I got a STL-3 last month and I'm not disappointed...but today I started using a McD I-2 shaft with it and I'm liking that combination a bit better than the original shaft because there is less adjustment on shots with english. To my (pleasant) surprise, the hit still feels very solid with the new shaft.

I came back to this thread accidently and thought I should report that I have gone back to the Schon shaft and I'm staying put! It was fun to experiment with a different shaft though, but I feel that the shaft made for the cue works the best for me. The only thing I want to experiment with now is different tips. I'm going to try talisman pro or triangle first when I get around to it.
