I got this from our shop. I think it was there for a while. We were selling it for $750 or so. I can't really remember. But none of us knows what it is because none of our dealer cataloges have it in it.

Here are some pictures...

I was also told that on Schons the "Schon" on the Butt and on the Shaft should both align. My however doesn't. If you are looking directly from the bottom and you can see the "Schon" on the shaft at 12oclock. The Schon on the butt is at say 5oclock. Not sure if it makes any difference. I'll try to use a buddy's superior camera so I can have better quality picks if needed.

Any help is appreciated.

LOL, oh that is a good one. I have never heard that one before. ;)

On the old gold letter JOSS's this was true. The high value cues had the shafts and butt "collars" match. I don't think anyone could match the shaft with the butt plate. :p

Could you post a better link to your cue photo's? This link don't work on my computer?

I have trouble linking to Yahoo Photos sometimes. Those where suppose to be Images. But I'll give a direct link to the picture page instead.

Hopefully this will work

If that doesn't work click here. Then you should see the page that says "Billiards" on it

If all else fails just put this in your link. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/smittie61984/my_photos

The Schon is the cue that you see pictured closely the most. I have a Players Profesional Series that looks close but I'm sure you guys can tell the difference. And there are no close pictures of it either.

Appreciate the help

Looks like a variation of the stl6. And no, Ive never heard the shaft and buttcap engraving thing either on schons.

Thanks Rivercity. I looked it up and it appears to be an STL6. Not sure if that is the best stick out there but I like it. I don't like it as much as my Meucci Original Sneaky Pete but that looks like it was beat with an Ugly Stick.

Schons are great cues. Custom maker hit, but you buy it off the shelf so to speak. I have a stl6 I shoot with from time to time. The cue in my avatar is a Schon SP Evan put out last year with spliced points and sharp inlays.

> It IS possible that the engravings line up,on special cues Evan makes himself. To do that,he probably matches the shaft perfect, then engraves the shaft then moves the table or cutting head down to the butt cap and does the same thing, then sprays the finish. I've seen that model before, but never with that color veneer in the points/rings. If the shaft and butt cap do line up,that's pretty cool, even more so if you got 2 shafts with it that both match. Also,if the shaft has the little black engraving up in the maple, and that is the shaft that it came with from Schon, the cue is probably no more than 5-6 years old. They were engraving or stamping the joint collar and filling with a gold wax before that, shafts older than that have no markings, but the pilot is pretty distinctive. They've also moved where the engraving is,early on it was further away from the collar than it tends to be now. I also heard somewhere that it actually isn't an engraving,it's an inlay, kinda like Searing does with his "S". Hope this helps,Tommy D.
