If you can imagine what ivory is and how it acts, you may not like it unless you're old school or understand how to control deflection.
People like ivory ferrules for one main reason. It's because they clean up nicely. You get chalk on it, and it wipes right off, just like glass. It is harder than a fiber ferrule and will therefore create a different hit. There is sometimes a 'clicking' type of noise associated with these ferrules.
Troy (koinnkid) sells them, I believe for $150-175 and I bet he will be the best bet you've got here on AZ. If you don't like it, just put it back up for sale, I'm sure you will be able to get most of your money back, as there are many people here who use Schons.
Pros -
cleans up nice,
is prettier,
and is more valuable.
Feels nice and crisp (depending on what you like)
Cons -
More of a tendency to crack hence, people who use them don't break with them,
Is harder and will throw the ball offline more
May feel clicky sounding depending on what you're listening for
Good Luck.
