I recently acquired a Schon LTD but don't know the model number.

I sent an e-mail with pictures to Schon but have not heard back from them yet.

I was just hoping that maybe someone on here could help, either by recognizing the cue or pointing me to somewhere where I might get some info.

Here are a couple of pics.

Thanks

That is a CX54 model which CueStix International sells. Here's a description:

CX-54 has a Birdseye Maple top and an Ebony bottom end. The top has 6 Ebony & Ivory points inlayed with Ivory & recon Blue Turquoise inserts and floating Ivory, Ebony, and recon Blue Turquiose accent inlays. The bottom end features 8 Ivory & Blue Turquoise inlay panels with Ivory & Ebony 'checkerboard' style rings, a double pressed black with white speckled Irish Linen wrap and a white butt cap.

The retail price is listed as $1275.

This may be the cue you are describing:

Schon for sale

The cues are VERY similar. The forearm looks the same but the butt on the one in the link has different inserts between the rings than the one I bought, and one just says Schon on the butt and the one I bought has LTD under the Schon name.

I received the cue today and it is gorgeous but I sure wish I knew the model number. I sent the e-mail with pics to Schon on Monday, hopefully I will hear back from them soon.

Thanks

To my understanding, almost all Schon models come with different rings. Even the LTD series have different ring work. Some cues have triple basic rings, some have double checked rings etc. Different ringwork doesn't make a different model what I understood.

Yea, seen that one. Really the only difference between that one and the LTD I have is mine has rings with inserts on the butt, two above and below the wrap, and two at the bottom.

And if anyone is interested in what looks like a really nice Schon with a low price so far (285.00}....but there's still 22 hours to go. You should take a look at it. If I hadn't just bought this one, I would be bidding on that.

Thanks best thing to find out about this cue is to call SHARON from HAWLEY'S billiards she will explain to you why you have 2 rings...when i bought my Ltd1033 as you can see those have 2 different rings...sharon told me that Schon can make the same cue but different rings.sometimes schon will make black butt cap or white butt cap but the same model....hope that will help a bit...

It's not 2 rings, it's 6 rings with inserts between the rings, plus mine says LTD on the butt, though they are very similar, the one I have is not a cx54.

I guess I'm going to have send off another mail to Schon, don't know why they haven't answered my first one, it's highly possible they are covered up.....

Hi Jeff,

I also had one of the Schon Ltd's that looks like your cue. The only noticeable difference is that mine had Schon Ltd. all on one line instead of two. I recently sold it to Ed Scott at www.azcues.com. I think he's already sold it, but if you go to his website, you can still see a picture of it. I believe that Ed sent it to Evan who said he believed it to be one of the prototypes for the CX-54. Great cue. It's one of the ones I wished I'd kept, but so goes the saga of an obsessive cue trader...

Regards,

Steve

How about this for a match???

Very interesting. Compare the pictures below with your cue. What I find interesting is that the cue in my pictures isn't marked as a "Ltd.", but appears to be exactly the same as yours. This belonged to a friend of mine and he contacted Evan at Schon. It was a cue design sold exclusively through Muellers and as such had no Schon model number - may have had a Mueller SKU.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

All these similar cues is perplexing to say the least.

I got an e-mail from Evan today and he says mine is a LTD720

Really perplexing where someone like me hoped that the LTD series was truly 1 of 12 but in reality it may be 1 of 12 of a hundred minor variations.
One model was done so exactly the same the only thing different was either a white butt cap in one LTD series to a black butt cap for another limited series.
