Hi,Was wondering if someone might give me a value on this cue.Its an r-6 from late 80's with blue, red and black veneers.the butt is in super condition, but the original shaft is warped. It comes with an ob-2 shaft that is 12.75 mm 29 inches, which is straight and rolls straight together. Also comes with original case and protectors. Also may be open to trades.

Nice Cue!

Hey bud!

You have a nice cue there. You need to talk to Big J on here, he is the Schon guy here and I am sure you can work something out on this cue. He is up to date on values and so forth. He was looking for an R4 just a while back. Good luck wity your sale!

Thanks
Tom

Also contact dean Campbell. His screen name is deanoc. He was looking for a sharp pointed Schon too. Great buyer too.

R-6

First off, I wonder, given you're in Wisconsin- why not take it directly to them and ask ?
Your time frame seems right given that ferrule looks like it's Micarta but is that the original wrap ? If not, that's not going to be in your favor.
As for value, there's 2 separate perspectives.
1) selling to a player who wishes to use it. - or -
2) selling to a collector.
If you go the latter route, your shaft condition will hurt you. One primary value point on a collectible is that it has a straight playable original shaft.
You will also want to verify whether it is a short splice or true full splice.
Again, I'd take it to schon and see what they have to say.

I have been in contact with evan,Its all original,But at the time i wasnt interested in selling it so i never asked on the value. He did say it was somewhat sought after

Just to let everyone know, ive had 3 offers at $600.not looking to get rich, just thought id let ya know.

You should take it!

With only 1 original shaft - which is warped - that's more than I would offer.

It really has no "collector" value per se - just a very nice player.

Also, you will never get top value here without posting your price. You said "Highest Bidder" - but auctions don't work here. At all.

Post a price and see if you get it. But it won't bring 1K....or 900......or....

These are great players, but no premium value in this market.

Schon R6

I have the identical cue. I bought here from a member. It has one original playable straight shaft. I paid $700 for it. The condition of the cue is about the same as yours appears to be. I have long collected cues but I also play with this cue from time tme as it has such a great hit. I think the advice you are getting here is good. Most people on the forum are very helpful. Good luck with your sale.

don't let these so called veteran members make u believe what they say is "fact." some/most of these guys are dealers and pro collectors that try to jump on "newbie" prey that misprice cues imo. then when u realize u mispriced an item, they try to force u to sell below market price...of course u are in no way obligated to but they will berate u...all for profit. as far as auctions not working here, not at all...bla bla bal...lol, by simple economic theory, they work anywhere and will provide u with current market value. basically ask around and sell for what u think is fair...if u agree to 700 and someone offers u 1200...take the 1200...duh! dont let some of these butt buddies try to manipulate u...look around at the threads...they r always brown nosing each others sales and pushing newbs around...fwiw.
