schon shaft on a jacoby butt

can someone tell me who has both cues if a schon 5/16x14 shaft will fit on a jacoby 5/16x14 butt.
i know the schons have quite a wide pilot....someones offered me a schon shaft as back up and i dont want to get it if it doesnt fit

Almost positive that it wont as is. If you have a repairman in the area, the pilot can be turned down though.

My Schon Shafts fit on my Jacoby no problem
Both use a larger pilot

I had a Jacoby years back, and dont remember my Schon shafts fitting it. Did Dave change his joint?

thanks for the replies.seems i may aswell but the shaft then just turn down the pilot if it doesnt fit

I was told by a cue maker the Schon although Schon uses a 5/16x14 piloted joint, that it is not really that size. It is actually a few thousandths different.

I had a Scruggs, and I forget exactly, but the shaft from one would fit on the butt of the other, but not the other way... I am certain that it either has something to do with either the pilot or the thread.
