Here I have my old Schon. I was told by some that it was a Runde Schon, and others have said it is not. It doesnt matter much to me, cuz it shoots perfect for me, but I wanted some of my fellow pool addicts opinions. If you look at the pin, it is different than most schons, but I have seen other Schons with this pin. Points are round cnc. What do you think the white is? I dont know how to tell if its ivory or not, but it sure looks good. I wonder what this is worth?

What's it worth? i'd say about $100-$150. What's your paypal? i'd be happy to take it off your hands

Pin

When I email Schon Evan C. said they only used that joint PIN from 93-95. Not a Runde.

I wonder what the reason for using that pin was? I have a Schon LTD that doesnt hit as good as this baby, and it has the regular pin, hmmm.... But then again, the shaft on this one seems like its a lot more dense. The newer Schon shaft just feels different.

Schon cues

Snipershot'

I have a stl7 cue i bought used, has the same pin as yours.I was wondering myself how old it is .I would not sell for any amout.I like it better than any cue i have owned.P.H.P.

Yup, I agree PhP. Dont get me wrong, my Schon LTD hits great, and I love it too, but this one just feels a lot better to me. I have even tried swapping the shafts, and the old timer still feels better.

Runde Schons are known for thier sharp points this cue has the rounded points even if it would by chance be a Runde schon it would not be one of the Runde Schons that collectors love to buy... (Runde was at Schon a few short years when they first went to CNC and the rounded points) I doubt very seriously it is a Runde cue but if it were it would be dated in the ealry 90's ... The printing on the butt cap throws me off a little as it does give it a little of the Runde look seeing it does not have the two small dots but still the scroll on the older Schons seemed different to me ...

Ive noticed that too King, the two dots missing on the butt cap. I suppose it is possible that someone has replaced the butt cap. I also agree with you that I doubt its a Runde era Schon, but that doesnt make me love it any less:)

Runde Schon...

I agree that this is not a Runde era Schon. As long as YOU like how it feels, it really doesn't matter.

Since Bob sold his interest in the Schon biz, my opinion is that the cues do not play anywhere near as good.

My understanding is, the reason Bob left was because he did not want to be part of it anymore, due to the other partners wanting to produce a greater quantity of cues. Once that decision was made, they had to start buying parts made somewhere other than in the Schon shop. When Bob was there every piece in a Schon cue was made in their own shop.

Still good cues, just not as good as the Runde era ones.

Ive never hit a Runde cue, but its hard for me to believe that it could be that much better than this one. Although the hit and feel are different, my newer Schon LTD still feels great to me. I have always used a production cue, Viking, McDermott, Player, and some other no nameres, and none can even compare to the feel of either of my Schons. That is of course my personal opinion. I know this old guy that has a beautiful Schon LTD, but still prefers to play with his old Viking. I guess its just to each his own, but I guess I'll have to get one of those Runde Schons to make sure, lol

I don't believe that pin makes a difference on the hit.. what I do know is that pin is designed for easier loading into a lathe..
