Costly mistake by Scott.
Scott breaks and ends up leaving Efren a LONG cut, he makes it with protection and runs 3 more balls to make the count 4-0 Efren and completely reverses the ball layout to favor him instead of Scott.
Scott makes a good counter but leaves Efren a good chance to reverse it again if he can make a good move.
Efren does and puts a ball in front of his pocket with protection.

Efren opens up the pack...
Scott goes for a bank looking for protection but hits it a little firm.
luckily it came out far enough to prevent cross banks on the two open balls in front of the CB.
Efren elects to move a ball to his side leaving the CB on the top rail.
Scott takes a foul to leave Efren a flyer as bait. Efren is a smart fish and doesn't take the bait.

Scott plays a double bank with good speed to avoid a total sellout.
I had to step away for a minute but came back to Scott playing a kick finesse shot perfectly.
tries it again and has to take a foul, score now 5 to -1
Scott tries a bank carom with protection and it works out alright for him.
excellent bank with protection by Scott. Sends the CB downtable to knock in the five that was sitting in the corner and puts the CB by the rail behind three balls on Efren's side.
Efren makes a bank fly at his hole and almost makes it.
Scott takes a risk attempting to bank a ball at his hole and put the CB behind the ball Efren just banked at his hole and barely avoids a scratch.
Efren banks a ball in to get up 6 to -1
Efren goes after a long shot to try and get the last two balls he needs and misses giving Scott a chance.
gets two balls and tries to play a carom after so so shape and leaves it in his hole but also leaves Efren a bank.
Efren cinches that bank and another one to tie it up 2-2.

A lot of knowledge in this match-up.
Unfortunately, Efren is past his prime and Scott is in his.
IMO, if one watches this match-up it isn't to sweat the winner, but
rather to catch a glimpse (and take notes) of the many intelligent,
creative, amazing, and bold shots that can be made playing one-hole!
