Here is a cue that Scott built for me.
He is in Texas and has been Richard Blacks repair specialist and also builds great cues himself.
Very nice person to work with.
100% satisfied with this cue build.
Desert Ironwood into Curly Koa.
Elforyn Piloted 5/16x14 joint.
Hits and plays real sweet. Solid!

Glad you had a great experience! Scott is a pleasure to work with.

Your cue turned out beautiful! And yes, his cues have a very solid hit, reminiscent of Richard Black's cues.

Scott has a very large shop with (I think) four different specialty lathes, a number of different workstations and work rooms for the various stages of cue builds and a sophisticated dust collection system.

It's a pleasure to visit with him and/or have a beer. (Yes, a cue maker with three different kegs on tap right in the shop!) The relatively new (2 years old) DECA brewing company is located in the same business park, and Scott rotates their beers. He even made the pulls for the taps in their Tap Room. Most beautiful pulls I've seen on a beer tap!

Enjoy your cue. Scott told me I could play, jump and/or break with any of mine. That's the old-school way they are built.

Got yourself another beauty, Bob! The woods & veneer colors go great together and, being a piloted joint, of course it’s right up my alley😎
Enjoy it, buddy!!

Bob,
the cue turned out AWESOME !
Enjoy

The design comes together exquisitely. The forearm has a rich look, almost reminiscent of a Hercek cue.
The veneer colors are subtle, points are appropriately wide and are extended ending with sharp points.

The wrap is perfect and exemplifies classic old school cue designs. The butt uses gorgeous wood and the
only thing I’d tweak is moving the ring up an inch or so from where it is so there’d be Ironwood beneath it.

All in all, this is a really handsome design and looks to be well constructed. If I saw this cue at the pool hall,
I’d have to approach the owner and ask them about this cue, who made it, the specs, etc. It’s that nice of a cue.

That's a beauty, I bet it's a good hitter too. Thanks for sharing and enjoy it in the greatest of health sir.
