Scott "The Shot" Smith

hey Bill. It was nice seeing you out at a tournament last Sunday.

I got to work with Scott Smith in the Reno Pro Am events and also we had him as the TD and MC at the Hard Times Jamborees.

Scott was always a pleasure to work with and I have to admit, in his position he was one of the most humble people I've ever met. But, according to him, he has plenty of reasons to be humble. Just Kidding... .

Scott's uncanny ability to sleep in the stands while holding a wireless microphone and a notebook with the current matches in progress and wake up to announce 'Let's give a hand for the loser on table ##, a great player from (insert home town and room, with list of titles) and then then congratulate so and so for the hard fought victory). And then announce the next match players and their details... and then go back to sleep, all in about 5 minutes.

I met Scott once at the Reno Open, in front of the burger place at the Sands. He said "KONNICHIWA" in a loud voice, bowed, and ran off. Even though my friend and I were both born in the US, no offence taken (as Japanese people would probably think we were Japanese too), just thought it was kinda funny.
