I realize that are alot of poolplayers from the gulf coast area unaccounted for, but has anyone heard from Scotty T? To know him is to LOVE him, and if you know him you know he would not be scared to get on his Harley and go find Katrina and give her the 7 and the snaps ;) :D Seriously though it would be awesome to hear he is OK. Thanks

I am aware of that as I am originally from Dothan as well. But I read in another forum that he was in Kennar this past weekend, so I was just wondering if he stayed in that area or what. Thanks for your reply. Have you been able to get in touch with your girlfriend or friends yet?

Just curious about what you are doing in Caymen. Are you in Grand Caymen?
I spent a little time there and my father was there for several years until his retirement this year. They were building a hotel when Ivan hit.
Hope its better there now but Ivan destroyed the Isalnd and their resources
were not that good.

If this is too personal just PM me and tell me to mind my f&^$*^ business.
I will understand. My father still talks to the guys on the site pretty regular.
Be safe and I hope all is well with your GF and both of your belongings.

Enjoy Grand Caymen if you can. When I was there it was a wonderful place.
Expensive but wonderful.
My father built a few hotels there and was working on one when he retired.
If you get a chance take a trip on one of the submarines if that still do the tours. I went on the one that goes 200 feet and it was great. I would like to do the 800 foot one. Very cool at night as the colors really stand out when the lights hit them.
Hopefully the tourism kicks in again but I feel the island has a lot of rebuilding to do.
have a good trip

Scotty

Scotty came by the shop on Thursday...he's just fine. Don't worry much about Scotty in this kind of thing, that guy can make it where others wouldn't have a chance. He stopped by to pick up some alligator gar scales he had given me for inlays...he makes jewelry with 'em.
This is the same guy who transported a live 5' alligator (which he caught in a local swamp at night, by hand) on his motorcycle 120 miles to stock his friend Tony's pond. Occasionally he would go float on his back in the pond til the gator got curious and came to check him out...then he would catch him in open water, bring him to the bank, and check him out.
This is not a fairytale, just Scotty.
He drove into N.O. Friday night for the Saturday tournament at Jamie's Farrell's Corner pocket. When he got the news he simply drove opposite the direction everyone else was going until he got across the causeway and then took backroads out of the area. He had come to Monroe, LA to fill up his car because there was no gas in Jackson, MS.
He looked real good and said he had been working on a new 9 rocket break that was really working for him. He's wanting to go to the US Open and try it out on the boys.
Wishing him the best of luck.
Anyone heard from Jesse Bowman? He moved to Biloxi/Gulfport area from Rock Island/Moline about 6 months ago. He didn't know about hurricanes like a born southerner. Hope he got away.

Got a bunch of Scotty stories but this is a short one .A while back he was in Ft Walton with an aligator and sold it to a guy for $50 .He told me that's a $100 aligator. I said what do you mean . Scotty says well I'll leave it with the guy a couple of days and he'll pay me another $50 to take it back.

Good to hear Scotty is okay. I've been trying to track down a few friends of mine that do live over there in that area, Biloxi as well as New Orleans. Sure would like to know how to get a hold of them, the ones that I am looking for, Berle G., Big Sue, Dottie and a few others. I'd sort of like to know if the pool rooms survived like Sport Palace and Pickles, the ones Dottie owns.

Hittman, tell Scotty to call me. I think he's got my number, or I hope he's got my number. I thought I saw his name on the U.S. Open player list.

Scotty and I are the best of friends. I haven't seen him since the last time we played in New Orleans, but if anybody could survive that hurricane, it would be Scotty.

Keith,

I saw Joyce in Chattanooga this weekend. She said that she and her kids came to Chattanooga to stay with her Mom. Berle came into town for a few hours and then headed back to Kentucky. So I know that Berle and Joyce are OK. Joyce told me that Suzie decided to stay in Biloxi and ride the storm out. You know how head strong she can be. Anyway, they didn't hear from Suzie (or Bonnie) for about 4 days. But Suzie did call on Saturday, so we were all releived at the poolroom to hear that. She is safe, but I'm not sure that her house or anything else is still standing. I didn't talk to her myself. I'm gonna call when there are phone lines there.

In fact, Keith, the first time I met you was in Greenville, SC at a place called Cue Time. I think you were staying with Berle and Suzie at the time.

I do wish all of the pool community in the Gulf area the best. Pool players are some of the most street smart and tough survivors that I know. I know all will pull through.

Mike
