Scratch in slate...should I be worried?

Just picked up a GC III this morning and during the move we scratched one of the slates. It's shallow...maybe 1/32 to 1/16 deep and about 2 feet long. I chalk it up to carelessness and what's done is done. My questions are:

Can this be fixed with a little beeswax or bondo?

Is this something that table installers are used to dealing with?

I'm having the table setup after Thanksgiving by a local installer and I'm wondering if this is something you guys are used to 'fixing'.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

That's normal, you can either fill it in with bondo, or just let it be. A scratch in the slate means nothing to the playing surface what-so-ever, but a single strand of string under the bed cloth will make you think the slate is broken because the scratch is below the flat surface of the slate, whereas the string is above.

Like RKC said it's no big deal at all. His explanation is spot on so I won't restate what he said. I will usually leave it unless the customer asks me to fill it. Either way it has no effect on the playing surface.
